skin on the line

washing day:

the bimonthly emptying of pockets-

warm swells of detergent-

Sweet steam room damp.

Skinning myself clean: walking around for the next hour and a half just a gravitationally defying entanglement of organs and capillaries

Sitting by the dryer in its final moments- leaving a bloody trail- to make sure the suit doesn’t shrink like last week

which left me having to walk around disproportionally lumpy- pushing organs into blank space: grey matter- until the stretch returned: only slightly worn.
